“I can be anywhere, but my heart always returns home” ❤️🩹 – with this message, billboards have appeared across the streets of southern Ukrainian Kherson 🇺🇦.
Our team at the charitable foundation “Support Kherson” has launched a visual social campaign to support the temporarily occupied Left Bank of the Dnipro River 🙏🏻.
Oleshky, Nova Kakhovka, Skadovsk, Henichesk, Hola Prystan… These are just some of the towns on the Left Bank of the Dnipro currently under occupation. Before the war, the population of these areas was around half a million. However, many residents were forced to leave their homes, unwilling to live under a dictatorial regime.
Those who remain are often unable to leave due to age, illness, or other social factors. It is our responsibility as committed volunteers to support everyone who finds themselves in such a difficult situation.
In addition to material aid, emotional support is equally important. A kind word can warm the heart of any Ukrainian, even if they are hundreds or thousands of kilometers away. Even if their heart is on the other side of the Dnipro.
The billboards are designed in Ukraine’s national colors – yellow and blue. The central figure of each billboard is an object that best symbolizes the occupied city. For example:
For Skadovsk, it’s the famous lighthouse.
For Zaliznyi Port, it’s the Ferris wheel.
For Hola Prystan, it’s the lovers’ gazebo.
A unifying element across all the billboards is a slice of juicy watermelon – the unofficial symbol of the Kherson region.
We sincerely thank everyone who helped bring this campaign to life under such challenging conditions 🫂.
Kherson is Ukraine 🇺🇦
